In July 2017 I bought IL-2 Sturmovik for the PC for around £20 and it worked fine, up until yesterday when I received the following message:

Picture IL-2.png

Never had this before.
I have sent G2A a support ticket and will see what happens and report back.

You've found the reason you shouldn't use G2A, dodgy keys everywhere.

Let that be a lesson to every one else to never use the bunch of crooks that are G2A. It is most likely that the key was originally sourced via a stolen credit card or other illegal means.

NEVER USE G2A EVAH!

This has been a public Theydon broadcast.

Cheap games though.

To keep this up to date, here is the story so far.

I obviously made my complaint regarding the game being removed and received the following message on the 5/6/18

On the 12/6/18 I received the following

Topic : Game removed by Steam

Thank you for contacting Customer Support at G2A Global Marketplace.
The status of your ticket has been changed to completed.

I checked my account and I didn't have any further message so sent the following.

Hello, I have not had a message to reply to so was unaware I had to reply.
The last I heard was that my issue was being forwarded to complaints.

I have then received the following and just replied to it as they requested.

Hi,

I've always heeded the warnings not to use G2A but still surprised action would be taken so long after the purchase.

Further update from them...

I have checked my PP account and there is nothing showing yet, but I am (kind of) hopeful.

Sounds promising mate.

Well been checking my PayPal account a few times per day and nothing was showing.
Logged on to my G2A account and eventually found that it had been credited to that account instead.
There was a choice to withdraw funds which I wanted to do, and boy do you have to jump through hoops in which to do so...

Firstly I had to register a mobile phone number with them, then they had to send me a pin code to both my mobile and my email address (which was down at the time for a few hours).
I then had to put both of these codes into my account.
I then had to log into PayPal and send them £1 to verify my PP account.
Then I had to find where it said withdraw (which wasn't really that obvious) and ask to remove funds specifying GBP or EUR etc.
Then they deducted about 5% fees and I pressed to 'withdraw funds'.
I was then informed that it could take 2 or 3 days (but no more than a week) to complete and show on my PP account.

At least I know its on its way.

Thanks for the warning about G2A i have used them in the past for antivirus/firewall software but was unware that they are stolen keys.

Are they other sellers we should be wary about.

You should try contacting G2A staff ask them for a new key or refund. I had the similar issue with one game in past but it was successfully solved by G2A team without any delay.

Have you read past the Op? He's already sorted it out with g2a.

Refund received into my PP account today, so all is good.

There is a lot of stuff online about them but I think this video gives a decent break down of some of the issues with using sites like G2A.

logged into steam today and guess what.......

Same game, same seller and key revoked. I have sent a support reqwuest.

I have used G2A without incident before but always cheap titles.. mind you i say without incident,. this was bought in october so whoo the hell knows if my others will go too 1 day.

Well I didn’t have any issues (apart from a bit of work), so hopefully it will be the same for you.

so i got the refund. it is a bit annoying tho as it is on my g2a account not on my paypal

1) I wanted a new key not a refund.... however i can live with that but.....

2) the credit is for 20.91 Euros however they will only let with withdraw 20.41 euros.

3) they want to charge me almost 2 euros to withdraw funds from my account.

now maybe i am sounding like a penny pincher. 2.5 euro loss is hardly the end of the world, however it isnt my fault they gave me a stolen key, it isnt my fault the game has now gone up in price. I didnt as it happens but what a pita had i of bought DLC for it!!!.

ultimately it is not my fault and imo i should not be out of pocket 1 cent, if anything it should be them taking a hit for ripping me off imo. It is the principle of it at this point

The problem is 'they' (G2A) didn't sell you anything.
A third party sold you it through G2A.
That's their 'get out'.

@Thug....

I am not sure if the guys at IL2 just gave me a new key but NOT a steam one or if it has always been this way however i was on my il2 online account today and i noticed 3 keys in my account. i thought they were always there and just the steam keys however on the off chance i installed their non steam launcher from the il2 website.
bear in mind the il2 staff said because i could not show them my inactivated steam key they could not help me.

i logged in and........................ it works fine.

which is funny really. i bought the retail version of it from game this afternoon, it will arrive tomorrow or saturday

Just tried to log into mine and it says 'you have not licence keys'.
Ah well, worth a try.
Thanks.

I wonder if that means it is just a matter of time before the key ban filters through to my il2 keys?
