Recently got a FZ38,via this forum, and i love it. But i have a question and google cant answer it. And it may actually be plainly obvious to some, but i am an absolute novice at photography.
When a photo i have just taken is being displayed on the cameras lcd, sections of the picture that appear white flash on screen black. So white sections flash between the white and black

It's showing you parts of your picture that have been blown and detail lost, whites too bright or blacks too dark, they are known as "blinkies".
There should be an option to change the display from histogram/highlight alert to normal.

I'm sure someone will have a more technical answer.
