hey there ryan,
I have a 37pe50, dmres10 and a telewest cable box but dont have cables as yet, looking 2 get them asap and looking for some help.
I know that component from the DVR to plasma is best but doesnt carry sound, so will a RGB Scart as well as the component carry the sound? And also, whats the best way to connect my telewest box to the plasma? RGB Scart again?? And 1 last thing....what AV ports do i use for each input eg DVR to AV1 etc
A lot of questions I know :lease: help.

Any help will be much appreciated

cheers
mac

component and RGB scarts do not carry any sound.

shame, in that case i would connect the dvd player to the TV using component cable and use phone cables from the DVD to the TV for the audio.

Ideally you need to buy an amp ASAP so you can take full advantage of Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1.

I also have this dvd player so make sure you select progressive scan in the setup menu and set your TV type as NTSC. This way PAL DVD will be output as PAL and NTSC DVD will be output as NTSC

I would connect the telewest box using a fully wired scart. get a good quality one say £20-30.

Your a star mate,
I'll get onto getting those cables in the morning.
I'll get the amp as soon as the ball n chain gives the ok for the budget to open up again.

ps...i take it fully wired scart gives as good a pic as RGB as I do watch a lot of cable tv....footie etc :smashin:

an RGB scart would be slightly better but with your lack of connections this should be fine. you could get a phone combiner/switch but i`d just stick with a fully wired scart.

i know what you mean about budget. i`m finally upgrading my TV later this month to a Panny TX32LXD500 but with all the extras new amp, speakers and cables i will have almost spent £2500. thats even before i buy the SKY HD box next year

Good Luck
