Full HD displays Panasonic vs Pioneer

Hi

Thinking of upgrading to a 1080p plasma this year
Am thinking of the new panasonics due out at some point.

Am I right in assuming that there will be some competition from
pioneer on this front at some point this year and if so does anyone know
release dates and prices yet. I see their 1080p panel is still quite expensive

Cheers

What size are you looking at? And at what distance would you be sitting from the set?

50PZ700 due May, 508 due May/June(/July?).
42PZ700 dueJune, Pioneer are not doing Full HD in 42", IIRC.

apart from a tuner, what will the 50PZ700 give you over the existing 50PF9 @ £3200?

I don't think either will do 24/48 Hz required for smooth HD-DVD/bluray playback

The Panasonic IMO is better and cheaper. I've just ordered myself one.

The Viera versions though, if they are anything like the Viera versions of the current models, won't be as good as the PF/PH panels.

Liam,

Did you order the PZ700? Have you seen in?

I ordered the TH-50PF9EK.

I have not seen the PZ700. But as I say, I hope it doesn't turn out to be like the other Vieras have done. Good in their own right, but the professional panels are much better even though they should really be the same

I tend to recommend people buy the panny industrial panels . However if they must have an all in one TV I tell them to check out the Pioneers.
