PTE 1300 is the Video Connector Board which allows you to connection of TV Tuner?Digibox (Sky or Freeview), DVD Player, VHS etc. This board has the Component input, Scart input, Audio 1 & 2 inputs and Left & Right Speaker connecyions. Without the PTE 1300 the only connector on the display panel is just the VGA input.

    MODS,

Re your question, its a an exceptionally good unit, excellent picture quality and IMHO one of the best display panels around if not the best. Its a high end unit and therefore expect to pay top money for it but I think the price you've been quoted is a bargain and worth giving it a serious thought.

HHA30ES is a very nice panel but go and see it in action very cinematoc but not very high contrast and not HiDef but ALIS (£2.5K gets you a Panny PHD7 which is a difficult call..........)

I saw this screen recently and thought it was very good. A bit beyond my budget but it was good enough to make me research further. A few searches on the American AVS forum would indicate that the latest Fujitsu screens are rated very highly over there.

Hornydragon, I'm not sure what criteria must be passed before a screen is considered Hidef but the smaller pixels seemed to make an improvement in fine detail and screen-door compared to the standard definition plasmas I've seen so far.

768+ vertical res (alis doesnt match this despite the quoted 1024 res) they Fujitsus are very good used to sell loads with BOSE lifestyle systems........ look great ithe S-video and componet......very cinematic IMO and for a TV replacement excellent (have some draw backs...but so do all)

    Horny,

Do you know if the interlaced fields on an ALIS panel are displaying identical information ? I suppose worst case is that they are and therefore the 'effective' resolution on these panels is 1024x512 which puts them somewhere in between the SD and HD Pannys.

What is the chance that the onboard video processing on something like the Fujitsu is actually attempting to interpolate the frames to try and smooth the image somewhat ? If that was the case then theoretically these screens may actually look a bit smoother than something like the HD Panny.
