    Fuji pros:
Uses AA batteries (easier to get hold off and recharge) S45 has expensive proprietary battery
    Hot shoe
Takes smart media and compact flash
    Good macro
    More like an SLR
    6xoptical zoom Canon only 3.6
More ISO range (depending on resolution)

    S45:
    More pixels
Smaller (not always good as it means compromise on optics)
    More like a compact

I would go as far to say that these two cameras arent like for like.
The Fuji is more a Canon G2 or G3/Minolta Dimage 7Hi. Which is a step up in class. Fuji vs G2 (around same price as S45) the G2 will win on resolution as processing of fujis 3 megapixel image upto 6 mega pixel doesnt make the images sharper.

Fuji looks the better camera on spec. But it depends what you are after and what your selection criteria is.

www.dpreview.com have extensive reviews on both. Fuji is compared to G2 in tests

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. It the zoom on the fuji that interest me and i believe it does very very good pictures etc. Ie got a nice fast shutter speed for fast action moving objects etc.

But wonder if any one here got a Fuji 602 to give me there comments

Might be worth looking at the G2.

Sharper picture combined with a better than S45 zoom (but not as good as the fuji).

brilliant in its market. I have one so i have no axe to grind

Th fuji is in a different market s its unfair to compare the two.

The dpreview says its the best compact available now. But the Fuji isnt a compact
