FS2 floor stands - alternatives?

someone surely must have checked out alternative stands when you consider the mission prices?

I considered the stands until I saw the price of them,

Ended up screwing the panels high up into the four corners of the room.

My mate bought the stands and having listened to each others systems (same amp and DVD player) we both think that my system sounds to have more bass than his.

We assume that the wall is providing a little more reinforcement to the flat panels.
