Sorry, but I think you need to read the trading rules again. Goods must be sold for a fixed price, no offers.

£425 ono is fine so long as you understand that if someone offers you £425 you are obliged to sell to them - you cannot refuse in the hope that someone will offer you more.

If this is ok, please can you edit your initial post to reflect this, alternatively, contact me or LFC_FAN and we will arrange for your thread to be removed.

    Many thanks,

    Kelvin.

Having said that, lik-sang have now dropped their price to £196 for a new one, delivery between 3rd and 10th of December, with another price drop to follow.

admittedly the price of these toys is gonna fall sharply now, so not that anyone would be interested in buying one of me now, id rather keep it than lose money.

Managed to sell the other one for £425 anyway.

But here is some advice for those thinking of getting one...

For what its worth, the units cost me exactly £384 each including 20% and that was from lik-sang.com - where i had a pre-order from March 04. Dont forget it you use a proper importer rather than an ebay auction the excise system is automatic so you are going to be extremely lucky if you dont get charged the 20% tax (which includes the UPS Shipping Admin Charges).

this means that I would expect that if you buy from lik-sang.com even now you will be looking at :

    £228 for the value pack

(you will need a memory card to save game progress, look at digi photos which are very impressive, play movies or listen to mp3s, so unless you are planning on buying a 1gb memory stick its a good idea to go for the value pack. Plus the screen feels very delicate, the soft carry pouch is useful if you dont want some massive scratches, and believe me you will notice them... also the headphones are a must if you want to appreciate the sound (the inbuilt speakers are tinny). So DONT buy a basic pack, or at least thats my opinion.

Then ridge racer is another £31.22

(for christ's sake i know metal gear acid sounds good, but this is the japanese version, and if your like me and all you know how to say is 'hello, do you want a fight?' then its only going to be dissappointing - i had vivid memories of thinking it was a good idea to import the Japanese Shenmue 1 on the Dreamcast many moons ago...)

    Say another £20 for shipping,

Total £280 plus dont forget that highly likely 20% tax! and your still looking at £336!! which i personally think is still too much. If you have waited this long why not wait until the price is what sony sells it for and stop giving profit to greedy middle men... like me, i guess (but it was only so i could justify the cost of keeping one for myself)

Ebay is a good alternative, be wary though that most of those on sale still seem to be outside the UK, so there is always the risk of tax. But these are small outfits and probably dont use a computerised tax system, so you stand a better chance of getting away with it.

A better way maybe other importers who ive heard a rumour pay your tax for you... YesAsia.com appears to be one but they dont seem to be offering any units for sale right now - if i was buying right now that would be my route. Can anyone else help with this?

Hope this is useful, I am thinking of putting up a site with all this info plus some pics and videos showing how simple the link up play is, and links to retailers of the unit. Im also hoping to get the sony beta software for movie conversion on there... please contact me if you think its a good idea/want to help out.

    thanks, i hope this helps

yep play-asia will pay shipping and vat charges if you use there standard shipping... hopefully the psp will be back on there site once the supplies increase. I have just had shipped a psTwo GT4 pack from them.. worked out about the same as one over here with a game will cost I expect :)

Tax wise if you get the item shipped by a courier then they will handle the taxes/import duty automatically.
It seems that DHL is one of the cheapest when it comes to the random admin charge they add.. (Parcelforce is the worst charging about £15 in admin fees.. this is when you use EMS which is handled by them once it hit the uk)

If you buy from a small company/ebay seller then you maybe able to get them to mark the package down to minimize the import charges.. only items under £18 will not be charged at all..and they may (C&E) open your package and want to see proof of purchase if you have sent a PSP marked down at £20 :)

(Though I got my DS sent DHL will a very low marked down price.. and have not had to pay anything :) )

    HTH

Id only take £390 for it, which is what it cost me + postage.

But its obvious that no one is going to pay that anymore as the prices on ebay have fallen to well below that, so i think that i will be keeping mine. Unless someone is crazy and wants to give me that much!

Think this thread is more of an advice on where to get one/how much it will cost you/taxes thread now.

Maybe it needs to be relabelled or moved?

    Slowen,

Can you please read the rules relating to when/how you can post in classifieds threads.

Can I also suggest that you read threads before replying - had you done so you would have realised that in this instance, your comments were no longer relevant ;)

    Regards,

    Kelvin.

    krusty,

As long as you are not employed by the company or anything like that. please feel free to name the company. That is the idea of the forums, sharing information and helping each other out. :)
