Announced today by Apple, FrontRow looks like the UI a lot of people have been waiting for (no live TV tho).

Trouble is, it looks like it's only for an iMac. I'd really like the same on my mini, hope there's a standalone remote on the way or that it'll work with 3rd party options.

    The UI looks nice though.

    Cheers, Carl.

Ahh, the remote is £19.00 at the Apple store. Looks like it's IR (works with the iPod dock too).

Just gotta wait for the software to turn up on the Apple store then ...

Nice...hopefully they're incorporate TV support into a later release and support the mini as the mini seems to be more suitable as a media server.

Speculation is that it'll appear as part of an iLife update at some point.

Been waiting a while for this that's for sure...... Big thanks for posting the link. Typical Apple though, even the remote is different and totally stylish. I was considering getting a new PC recently and possibly another MCE2005 machine but my mac mini is winning me over to apple software more and more. To wait or not? hmmmmmm.

The video support in iTunes 6, plus the music store now flogging tv shows, suggest they're moving in the right direction. Just a bit too slowly for most of us !

Oh, and a new version of Salling Clicker arrived yesterday. Haven't tried it yet though .. but more device support and WiFi support are worth having.

And now there's MediaCentral (free download), which looks a lot like FrontRow, but with more (streamed & live TV support, more media types).
