:hiya:can front speakers be placed further behind a centre speaker or do they have to be in line so too speak.? my fronts can go right back now into left and right corners but my centre is under my projection tv so if i took into consideration the depth of my tv there would still a difference of a couple of feet:)

Ideally the FR L/R should be either side of your display and maybe slightly behind.
It won't really make much difference to the soundfield , they way you set it up , but you may need to increase the volume or change the distance on your reciever to match the Fronts.
Also try toe-ing them in towards the listening position.
But in essense , yes you can have the fronts further behind the centre if you balance the volume/distance.
