Could some of you more knowledgeable people please tell me which steelbook version of this film has the best transfer? Is the Zavvi exclusive one up to much or is the French import version the way to go? I'd really appreciate some guidance on this.

    Thanks. :)

Original CA is the best BR and Zavvi is the UK's finest in pure crap BR. I know I own both.

Many thanks for the replies, I really appreciate it. :smashin:

@Buffalo - Do you mean the actualy film looks good or just the steelbook case?

@Vid - Does Zavvi's Steelbook BR use the Echo Bridge transfer then?

What makes the Italian version the best, in your opinion, Markus? Do you own this version yourself? What transfer does it use?

I think most people would agree with you but it's worth pointing out that they are ALL absolute pants - It's just that some of them are more pants than others.

The Canadian Alliance version gets the best reviews but even then, the transfer is riddled with dirt and specks and colour coding errors , the US version by Echo Bridge is an absolute piece of trash, even cropped wrongly from 1.85:1 to 1.78:1 and the UK version is somewhere in between.

It's also worth pointing out that Alliance and Echo Bridge are streets ahead of almost any other company in the market when it comes to producing cheap nasty godawful blu-ray transfers that stink.

I can't comment on the Italian release as I haven't seen it.

^^ That's a better answer than I was going to post. Same here never seen the IT version but I usually take Markus for his word.

Thank you very much for this. I really appreciate your honesty. :smashin:

I'll remember that for the future. ;)

I'm intrigued by this Italian version now. Would you happen to have any more details on it, Markus?

Does anyone know who is responsible for the Italian transfer?

Thanks for that. I can't say I'm too keen on it now given recent information though.
