Have a Samsung fridge, approx. 6 years old. The interior light has stopped working. According to manual it requires a technicians visit.
Does that sound right for a fridge light??
Obviously I don't know if it is the bulb? Or sensor( I cannot see a switch)

What is the model number of the fridge ?
(this should at least be on a rating plate somewhere on the fridge)

It's possible the led is physically attached to the circuit board?

Model number is rl38sbsw. When I google it I have found other people with same problem, but no mention of a fix. Even "yes, you need a tech"

I've just had this problem. It seems that there are two versions of the fridge freezer. The newer version is lit by LEDs on a circuit board. I think this is why the manual says you need a technician to replace the light. The older one like mine has a simple 40W bulb. The difficulty is getting off the plastic casing in order to change the bulb. I eventually managed it with two flat head screwdrivers and considerable force. There is a clip at the bottom of the casing - get this out first. At the top on either side there are flaps that secure the casing and mean you need to pull the casing straight out towards you. Place screwdrivers in the side vents either side to get some leverage and pull the casing towards you very hard. It should the come off and you can change the bulb.

thanks seancito, I was concerned I would break something but your instructions are spot on.Once that bottom clip is released it is difficult to remove the cover but it will come of if it is forced. I've just got to find a bulb now!
