    Hi All ..well ive decided if the Sky Installers turn up again with a Amstrad plus box ill be stopping Sky....So the question is can anyone tell me what is the best freeview box out at the moment as far as picture quality and sound.goes and connections.as it will be conncted to my Tosh 27wl56 LCD..thx for any advise Akky :thumbsup:

    If it's a straight Freeview box (i.e. not PVR) you're after, then I think it's hard to beat the Sony VTX-D800U.

    If however, you are thinking of a PVR then I have no real experience and will leave it for someone better qualified to make that recommendation.

    PVR: Probably the DigiFusion PVRT200.

    As a matter of interest, why this one? What's so good about it? I'm after one as well hence my questions.

    Only that, from what I read, of the current crop it appears to be the most reliable twin tuner job - least likely to not record, or bu&&er up when it does etc etc.....

    The other promising candidates - Humax 9200, Topfield - seem to have recurrent glitches, and the Pace (twin - obsolete) and Panachronic offerings are both junk. Goodmans, Sagem are also to be avoided.

    For ultimate reliability, the Humax 8000 can't be beaten; but it has a VERY basic feature spec, and only has one tuner (can only do one thing at oce, rather like a VCR).
