Can anyone help. I have Sky + but I don't want to continue with my sky subscription and just watch and record the free to air channels. I know I'll have to pay £10 per month for Sky+ but I believe in the short term that this is prefereable than buying a freeview HD recorder or DVD recorder and freeview box. Any help would be appreciated.

As long as you have completed the minimum 12 month term
for the channel package then just ring SKY and tell them you want to cancel but keep the SKY+ sub ongoing. The smartcard will continue to allow the viewing of FTV channels and with the £10 a month sub being paid SKY+ can record the FTA and FTV channels.

    Just for clarification.......

Freeview = Digital terrestrail service run by the BBC/CC and SKY.

Free To View = Term used for channels on SKY that require a smartcard but no monthly subscription.

They are not the same so some channels on Freeview are only available on SKY with a subscription.
