    Hi guys

Had a quick 15 min browse of the forum, but can't find anything specific to this, so apologies if its been covered before...

I am looking to move from a sky+ box, which is linked to an upstairs room, with a 'sky eye' and seperate remote to watch content from the planner in bed. (Fed up with paying for stuff I don't actually watch!)

So, I'm wondering does any freeview box offer the same coax 'sky eye' equivalent with a separate remote? All the wires are in place, so it'd be easy :)

And if so, recommendations on the best boxes (and places to buy) would be appreciated. I would need a dual tuner, and be able to record 2 programmes at once. Love the sky+ menu system and remote to be honest, so anything close to that would be great. Would like at least 80GB ideally (or be upgradable). Would also like an optical out for my amp. WOuld be looking to output via RGB scart as I do now.

IF one exists (no idea) that is also a DVD recorder, that would be cracking... but not essential I suppose...

Money not really an object for the right box, as I'd be saving hundreds from quitting sky over the year, but £150 - £200 is what I was thinking... !?!?

Thanks in advance for any advice on the matter...

    Dave
    :)

The Digieye is built into the Sky boxes. For other types of kit, there are after market solutions. Some of these have the advantage that they can control other kit too. I personally have the one that I mentioned in this post. Works a treat. I bought mine from a specialist aerial shop. Its not the sort of thing that Comet/Curreys etc would sell. Unfortunately, as far as I am aware, the Sky eyes are not compatible with this unit.

BTW. You won't get a dual tuner Freeview PVR with DVD reocrding but would would find some DVD recorders with one built in Freeview tuner.

I like the tvlink plus as its powered by sky rf2 output , though you can use a separate power supply, and it has 2 remote eyes to control my freeview f2 fox and a second satellite receiver. Its so neat and small.
I can control all my devices from any room with a sky magic eye and my oneforall remote control.
