Looks like my inbuilt digital tuner has decided not to work anymore. It was a gradual process with it losing channels day by day and now I can't even tune these digital channels. I can watch terrestrial tv albeit the quality is not what one would consider as 'watchable'. I hope my digital tuner hasn't decided to fail on me or else that would mean I would have to get my TV repaired. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi

It could be the tuner, but it could also be an aerial reception problem whereby the nasty weather or something has deteriorated the aerial or coax cable feed.

A gradual loss of reception would point to ice or water getting in somewhere.

Yeh, I'm inclined to agree with the co-axial deterioration idea. It is a fairly old cable. Though I am not quite sure why terrestrial works but digital does not? Does digital require a signal above a certain threshold to be operational?
