Haven't seen this posted any where else, check out this link, which hints at a possible free alternative to Sky HD in development, any thoughts?

The writer seems to have problems knowing the difference between Freeview and Freesat. :thumbsdow

There is no question that there will be FTA HD on Dsat but a Freeview type service on Dsat is not just a matter of broadcasting the channels.
As for Humax well they are offering their hardware EU wide a stretch to assume their launch is an indication of their faith in the UK market given no genuine FTA broadcasts announced (trials do not count:) ).

The BBC (with SKY and CC) were handed Freeview on a plate and had a ready built base (ex-itv digital boxes) and it was a no brainer for manufacturers to support the system, HD is a different matter at least until mpeg4 boxes can be sold in the £50 to £200 range with HDD recording.

Off topic I know but from your sig Starburst, are you a Pratchett fan?
