Freeview box with optical output?

    Hello all,

    I am moving soon and am going to be after a freeview box that has an optical digital output.

    I would also like to know of any boxes that are good in weak signal areas.

    The nokia has a coaxial output not a optical.

    the netgem has optical out
    and is a excellent performer.

    pioneer is the best ive used,

    optical out, and good signal

    its the DBR-TR100

    the pioneer you can select if you want RGB, s-video or composite on either output

    Agreed the Pioneer is one of the best boxes IMO.

    I've got a Sony VTXD800 and both the sound quality and picture quality are fantastic, even better then when i had NTL Digital. By the way you need an toslink adapter to use the optical out on the sony, but these can be bought for about 2 quid from maplins!
