RTE1/2 and TG4 have recently been launched on Sky (for NI customers). Does anyone know whether these channels may be added to the Freeview selection any time soon? It seems that adding the channels to Sky now makes Sky much more interesting to NI customers, so if Freeview don't wanna lose out, I think they should add RTE/TG4 channels.
Anyone know anything more about this?

RTE/TG4 do not buy the UK wide broadcast rights for their imported programming (US, sport and movies etc) so are not in a position to offer their service as FTA via DTT or for that matter Dsat/Cable.

Their programming can be offered to viewers in NI via Dsat thanks I assume to the postcode mapping embedded in the Videoguard smartcards which limits reception to only those who are entitled to view the channels.
