Wrote a previous thready on not getting all my channels.

However:

Ive just moved into my first house i bought a sony bravia kdl40v580. Not picking up all the channels as its a new house not sure if this is to do with my aerial on the roof or what it is.

What can i be checking to find out where the problem is coming from?

How can i check my rooftop aerial is fine? (without going up there)

Not sure where im picking up from. ( i live in stockton on tees)

any help with the above will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Which Freeview channels can you get? Which Freeview channels can't you get?
Does analogue work?
If you press the "info" button ( or similar ) on a working Freeview channel, does the TV show the UHF channel ( frequency ) number? If so, what is it?
Which local BBC and ITV do you get?
Is you aerial horizontally- or vertically-polarised?
Does this TV work at another location? Do you have any other TV equipment you can try at your location?

If the house is new, who put up the aerial? Can they help you?

If the house is new to you, but previously occupied, did Freeview work for the previous occupants?

Answers to these questions will help you to diagnose the problem.

One way to check your aerial without going up there is to ask a professional installer to test it.

GOLD and ESPN are encrypted so, unless you have TopUpTV you won't be able to watch them

The aerial at this new property doesn't seem to be of much use. Using a TV booster may give you a few more channels but you may need a new aerial.

You need to put your postcode into the webpage link that fernandez gave you. This will indicate the best transmitter and the type of aerial you need.

Freeview is received on six main channels called muxes, each mux contains a number of freeview stations. See this link.

DTG :: DTT Services by Multiplex

For a good understanding of freeview see this link.
