Freesat from (those thieving rogues) Sky

I have had a Freesat from Sky card for some time and today I get a message to say they expect another £20. This was supposed to be a permanent subscription - the clue is in the name. Anybody else got this?
The day after the Freeview downgrade removing channels Sky are threatening me with removing more. Just been watching Electronic dreams 70's household - looks like I'm heading back there.

You are mistaken, it was never permanent

If you bought a FTV card from CH4 or got one from SKY (as is or part of a Freesatfromsky install) they had a warranty on them with a guaranteed replacement if and when SKY changed the encryption.

Cards bought as is were for 3 years and cards bought with Freesfromsky were 5 years. More info here.
