Freesat from Sky - filmfour? PVR possible?

Sorry to post in 2 forums, but my question regards Freeview and Freesat from sky.

I have resisted the urge so far to give my money to sky in order to have a decent selection of television. My problem is that I can't get cable or Freeview and I'm sick of just having 4 channels of soap and quiz/reality shows to choose from.

So I stumbled across freesat from sky today and wondered what it was like. I looked at the freesat website and was specifically trying to find filmfour on their listings but couldn't, so is it going to be available on freesat as well as freeview?

Also, i'd want to have PVR/sky+ type functionality so that i can watch what i want when i want and need to know if this is possible with freesat (i'm guessing not without a sky+ box - back to square 1)?

Anyone in the know about this?

So decent movies for free on freesat through filmfour, like it a lot.

All i need now is a way to get a sky+/PVR type function with this freesat and I'm in telly heaven.:smashin:

Film 4 may FTV (need a sky card) or FTA if its the former you need a sky box/CAM if later any sat based PVR box (Dreambox?/Humax/Mahnattan etc) will work. BEst bet may be to consult a local specialist sat dealer

Thanks for the help. Not sure how to check this FTV/FTA (is that free-to-view, free-to-air?) possibility. Like the sound of the HD possibility too from your reply in the other forum. Would that be just when the BBC's freesat service is launched or would it also be available on sky's service do you think?

Thanks Hornydragon, looked at the list and it looks peachy for films and bbcHD.

Will ask around about Humax box etc for improving the options for viewing on the freesat platform.

Things are looking up!:D
