Hello, i'm new to this forum. I ditched the Sky TV as wasn't gonna pay £15 a month to just pause and record.
So i've decided to buy the good old Foxsat . I believe i can connect the sky box to this through the output on the foxsat?
what do i need to connect these together?
i was told i cannot split a sky signal but what are these for if you're not able to?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.

It is either one or the other. You do not connect together. Unplug sat cables and plug into Foxsat. Then Foxsat to TV. Basically one box replaces the other. I do believe an issue will arise if you have SKY Q.

If you wanted to connect them together so that you could record on the Foxsat the output from the Sky box, then uou can not!
The Foxsat, nor the Sky box for that matter are able to encode the sudio and video, they can only record already encoded signals thatcare transmitted.

The middle socket on the Foxsat is provided to allow both tuners to be used with only a single cable.

You connect tuner 1 out to tuner 2 in. The box is set up in single cable mode, The software knows what 2nd channels you can record so it will no let you make impossible recording reservations.

If you understand how it works you can also use it to feed another tuner say in a TV or the Sky box.

I feed the satellite tuner in my LGC9 Oled this way. All you need is a length of satellite grade coax with a F connector on both ends.

The channels you can get are determined by what transponder tuner 1 is using when the Foxsat is on or recording in sby (a little less than 50% of the total will be available,

With the box in low power sby, 100% of the channels can be viewed.

With Foxsat-HDR you can use the IF out to feed an older $ky box as Graham has outlined.

Or use one cable for the -HDR in single cable mode (loop from IF out to tuner 2 needed) and the other cable to the $ky box for use as a tuner only.

Or run another cable from the LNB to the $ky box and use the twin shoutgun for the -HDR. Most LNB will be quad as minimum so should have spares.

Beware if it is a $ky Q box being replaced. The twin output wideband LNB probably need reverting to the older quad version.
