My (potential) parents in law wanted free veiw, as they are in a not very well covered area I suggested the Nokia box! they went and bought a thomson Dt1000 or soemthing. They picture is poor and very pixelated, and alot of clicking audio, hopwever the picture seems to be very dependant on Atmospherics and the position of the TV and Box in the room:confused:   they have it on wheels and move into the middle so all can see but it live against the wall! HOe they bhell does moving it 3 feet givea far superioir picture??? They are going to try and swap the box for a nokia to see if that works better, if it doesn't help or the shop wont let them its going to be anaerial specialist out, But they only had a new one fittted 3 years ago surely that would de digital ready???
Any help and a link to the better postcode checker (digiguide)??? much appreciated.

PS they are in Wolves so local experience a big help if you have any cheers HD

    It's "Freeview".

It sounds as if they are using the original aerial cable and it's picking up the signal through the poorly shielded cable itself. I would recommend replacing the entire cable with a single length of double-shielded coax (no joints or wall plates in between receiver and aerial). While you are at it, you might like to get a wideband aerial fitted. Your local installer will know which is best.
