I am sure you all know, but if you register your psp at www.yourpsp.com you get delivered Spiderman 2 umd movie free :)

Sorry for anybody who has just bought it

Personally, I think these UMD movies are just a gimmick and will soon die a death, but I am happy to take freebies.

Congrats must also go to play.com, who deliverd my psp on launch date, hope the same happens for the xbox 360.

    Regards

    John

Of course you're right. Or wasn't aware that 60% of UMD sales in NA are for the films. It has had better debut sales than DVD.

Of course buying DVDs then putting on MS is still cheaper. But I recc everyone buys at least one UMD film just to see the quality on the PSPs beautiful screen

I note that the registration only for model numbers PSP-1003 and PSP-1004, which I presume are the UK release models. So that excludes those bought overseas such as PSP-1000K or PSP-1001K?

yeah but I've been on other forums and some chancesters are registering their Jap/US PSPs serial number, then choosing 1003k or 1004k

really unfair if it works.....also stupid 'cos Spidey won't work on US PSPs

I think I managed to register my U.S. psp on the UK site, I selected 1003 even though my psp is 1001 and it seemed to work. It'll be interesting to see if I receive the free UMD even though it will not play on my R1 psp :(

You should be ashamed if you have a US PSP because a) the UK Spidey won't work on it and b) Most value packs got Spidey with it already. I ,however, have an R2 Jap PSP which was never released with any free UMD.

Thanks for this, I was not aware. I actually have a JAP PSP, but have regisitered anyway so lets see what happens? I did check through the legal terms and conditions and could not see anything about it being for UK PSP only?

Why should they be ashamed, its like anything in life whose gonna turn down something for nothing? No one.

And they could always sell it on ebay if they dont want it!

Have to agree with you there.

Although there was nothing on the site when you pre ordered saying you would get it on the 1st, i got an email saying i would a few days before release. They dispatched on weds evening and though i wouldnt get it till saturday, and thats when I found out the had sent them all parcelforce 24hr.

I was very impressed with that, they spent money that they could of otherwise had so everyone got theirs on the 1st. Its not often theres a company that puts its customers first now days.

Because, I assume, there's a limited supply of the UMD. If a US PSP owner takes it and sells it, he's taking it from a person with a UK/JPN PSP who could have used it.

i'd guess you only get the disc with 'not for resale' on it and not a full retail box for it too.

selling on ebay? there will be loads on there making them worth very little

Yeah well, some buyers on eBay are stupid. I remember seeing a thread on another forum where someone paid $100 plus just for a PSP box. It was clearly advertised as such as well

More stupid them, you have to be very shrewd when buying off ebay, just look at the memory stick dupe, £35 looks great, then add £15 postage and then £15 insurance and you have to check to see the terms and conditions of the seller, they dont make it obviuos.

People will buy anything if the price is right... I look foward to seeing about 100 Spiderman 2 UMDs on ebay for a fiver a piece!

that is a fault of eBay when insurance is like £15, when the Royal Mail themselves charge half that

Thats even worse. Having family in HK, they say stuff is lot cheaper than eBay, even if you pay less than UK retail price

The rate is like £1 = $10 HK dollars...

But stuff in HK is about half the price of UK. A PSP can easily be picked up for about £100

As an example I picked up my Nokia 6230 (last year when it was still new). UK price was £280 sim free then. I got it sent by family from HK for £150

It's the sellers fault, not eBays. eBay gives people the ability to charge for postage. People generally offer low buy it now prices with high postage. Still cheaper than most offline retailers though. I know I got my 1gig Sandisk for 50euro less than what I would have paid offline. At least 50euro.

I picked up a 512mb Sandisk stick for my PSP, including postage I paid £37.00 for it. 6 Days later it arrived from Hong Kong. That seller only charged £6.99 for shipping.

I could understand the insurance being £15 if the item was something like a PSP, Camcorder etc, but not for a memory stick.

It's not for insurance. It's for something called profit :)
