Frank Hurley (manipulation is nothing new)

    Frank Hurley was a genius, a very brave man and a maverick. He famously shot the great war and was on the endeavour with Shackleton.


    He was not beyond manipulating his photographers for his own end. The famous shot where Shackleton was returning to rescue his men was actually a shot of them leaving, the shot below was actually two negatives combined the planes or shells were added..

    He was the a fantastic photographer and a very brave...


    Today people get criticised for using photoshop when in fact enhancement and manipulation has gone on since photography started.. Have a look here and see some of the mans great work http://www.greatwar.nl/frames/default-hurley.html

    It was not beyond him to manipulate photo or even stage battles scenes.. But he was master at his craft

    great picture, and especially from the days when the camera never lied..who would have believed it then, and another great example was the fairies in the backgarden, does anyone remember them?...Frank Hurley,..I like his grand daughter Elizabeth!!!..ooh wheres my camera.. lol
