I watched Millenium tonight on the sci-fi channel, why I stopped watching it on BBC I will never know, its an excellent show.
But I found out tonight that Frank's Wife died in the Show, Why? and what was the Story?
What season are the sci-fi channel currently showing?

Cheers

I remember the episode sort of - the government has released a disease that affected a number of people including Frank's wife. They went off to a cabin in the mountains/forest to get away from it all and, knowing that she would not survive, his wife wandered off into the woods to die.
I feel that it was very rushed because in the following episode his wife hardly got a mention!!

His wife was the whole reason I stopped watching it. The first season started out great but as his do-gooding wifey got more involved in the weekly stories it went downhill until I couldn't stand to watch it any more by the end of series 1. I remember her getting kidnapped or something like that, and his pal the cop getting killed by some serial killer chap, but that was like 6 or 7 years ago now. I've seen a few from various series since then, but it's difficult to catch it during its ever changing timeslots on numerous channels, often mixing and matching different seasons together, or at least that's how it looks

Was it ever shown on the BBC? I thought it was Sky to ITV to SCI Fi Channel in the UK?

Really loved the first two series of that show, didn't miss a single one. All went a little bit downhill as the third series attempted to chase ratings that were, by that time, simply never going to happen.

It'd be nice to get all the shows on DVD and looks like it may happen:

"Q. Is Millennium going to be released on DVD?
A. Recent comments suggest that the intensive ongoing efforts of the fan community to make a Millennium collection available on DVD may soon pay off. When asked in a recent online chat about the possibility of such an official release, Chris Carter stated, "They're talking about Millennium on DVD. Beyond that I wouldn't think thee is much hope for Harsh Realm, or Lone Gunmen. But, I think there are a lotr of people asking for the Millennium DVD, so I think that will happen."

Although nothing is completely certain at this point in time, things are looking increasingly promising regarding the possibility for such a release. The Digital Bits DVD website recently stated, in their reliable rumor mill section, that individuals working at 20th Century Fox plan to release a box set of Millennium's first season during the year 2002. This supposed scheduling information is likely based on recent positive comments made by Fox's Peter Staddon. Time will tell."

Further to jmcr100 letter I think it was the Millennium group the released the disease, Frank was given a cure for it but it would only be enough for one person, so the daughter was given it.

BINGO!!!

That was it!!! I saw it a long time ago but couldn't remember who exactly released the disease.

I always found Millenium an interesting alternative to the X-Files - it's a shame it just seemed to fade out in the end. Lance Henriksen was made to play the part and I found it more believable than the X-Files (for so far that both series believable can be!!!!)

A DVD release would be high on my list of essential purchases

Thanks everyone :)

Is this show still in production or has it been cancelled like so many other good shows, I.E Space above and Beyond.

Cancelled in the last story I think Frank jacked his job in and just went of with his child.
It finished in the states in 1999. Frank also appeared in an episode of the X-Files.

Thanks Garrett, I hadn't realised the show was so old. I do remember Frank being in the X Files.

Actually I think 1999 was when they finished recording it. As the name suggest it was the lead up to the millennium, but could have gone on for an other year as the true millennium was 2001.

There were some brilliant individual episodes of this show, I remember "Somehow, Satan Got Behind Me" (series 2, episode 21) as one of the best hour's worth of TV I've ever seen, genius episode.

Also loved the "...Thirteen Years Later" (series 3, episode 5) episode featuring Kiss.

I really wish Fox would release all three seasons on DVD.

Received my new amp today, a Denon avr-1803, watched Millenium in Pro-logic II, my first experience of this sound format and it totally blew me away, sound effects were totally panning around the room like you get with 5.1 sound on dvd's. :D

I think the best episode was the one where the kids were given a users group address which linked to a web cam link at a certain time and day which showed a killer who wore a cloakd and had a mask on killing people live on cam. I remember they never actually caught the guy and did they ever find the guy who was sending him photos of his wife. Wow so long since I saw that program. It was a case of the last series I saw ended and it was never seen again, apart from as stated his brief appearances playing the same character in the X Files.

Wouldnt it be better if they had used Jack Black?? Lol. Just a though.

What was his name in Aliens again??

Just watched Millanium, I was shocked to see how old Barbara Bain looked, it doesn't seem that lang ago she was in Space 1999. Doesn't time fly

Ms Bain was the mature bit in Space 1999 though. Found a few pic's that may interest, along with the fact that she is Juliet Landau's mom. One pic from Mission Impossible, one with Landau and one recent.

She was a bit of a looker in the sixtie's :)
The picture on the right look's like it may have been taken from Millenium.
Is Juliet Landau famous then?

Surely you've seen Buffy!!!

Juliet Landau plays the wonderfully crazy Drusilla. Along with Spike they formed one of the best partnerships in Buffy.

Was seen for a short time in Angel (she turned Darla back into a vampire) but since then nothing in either series.

Bring back Drusilla!!!

:( I could never get into Buffy  I watched one episode and got the impression that it would be, dare I say, "the same every week".

Have to say that my wife doesn't get Buffy either and true, that in the beginning in was very similar every week but it has evolved into one of the best programmes on t.v. My wife thinks it's all vampire slaying but the storylines and character development has elevated this series into the unmissable category
