    Hi everyone,

I was setting up the recorder today to record 2 hrs in FR for one program, will this actually be superior to using SP., also if you were recording for 1 hour in XP would FR be better for 1 hour too??

All FR does is adjust the program file size to exactly fir onto a dvd.
In the two examples you quote it would be nearly identical in quality, but still slightly worse as it will have to process the picture to convert from one to the other instead of a direct copy.

FR is intended to exactly fit an odd length of program onto a dvd whilst getting the best possible quality, ie 90 mins at fr filling a dvd is better quality than at sp with 30 mins of dvd spare.
