DVD playback on the FQ80 I just cant fualt it at all. Very crisp and clear I use DRC 100 for mine. Like I have mention before it beats the hell out of the FX66 I had

I hear DRC 50 increases the resolution to *4 , is it then worth playing dvd's using this mode ?

    :)

I remember on my PB50 the images of the sand looked terrible , it would be fuzzy to look at . I hope the Sony handles such images better

In my veiws yes and my mates also says it way much better. Maybe my FX66 was a duff set as you know I had a problem with it but the replacement was just the same. But from what I have seen in my own home the FQ80 has blown the FX66 away. Much better with sky aswell as DVD's.

John Lewis will do the FQ80 for £1449.00 Inc 5 years warrenty. I cant remeber which one it was as I rang around alot. But my local John Lewis is doing it less due to the hassle I have been through and we still got to discuss the price. As My FQ80 just got a few slopes and curve so i am having another set. But the picture is brillent just a shame on the curve and slope as it would of be a damn fine set

I did not go into it as I did not want to void the warrenty. And with it being brand new they shoudl give me a set that is good. A sony engineer came to look at it and says we get it swap over as the slope cant be solved in the servies menu well the slope i have anyway as it require taking the back off etc. But he says we swap it over.

Well I will be a FQ80 owner by next weekend so long as I get my refund from ED (not going to but another set until this money is in my account)

I will let you know how I get on

I'm a bit worried about the buzzing but as far as I can see I've got a 60% of it not being too bad from looking at the pole

whilst my other choice the philips 9527c has a 57% chance of vertical black bars ,agin according to the pole

    All I can say

Up to date i have had

    2 FX66
    1 FQ80

None of them buzz that we can hear. Unless we put our ears at the back on the tv and listen VERY VERY hard. which is a very low hummmm.

And I am more than sure my FQ80 this coming in the next few days wont buzz. And hope it dont have a slope then i be one happy chap

    Glad to hear this news

I can't wait , the only thing is I don't think all my AV equipment will fit (that's why I asked about the shelf sizes on friday)

may have to loose the VCR and just use the 14"/vcr combo upstairs
