So we have now had some good hands on time with all the big shooters this year, Destiny: TTK, Halo and COD: BLOPS3 are all out, Battlefront had a big beta as did Rainbow Six (but no one cares about Rainbow Six :p) Oh and apparently Titanfall is still a thing

Which one is going to claim your time? Obviously you can play more than one but usually people tend to gravitate towards one title to spend their time ranking up, unlocking stuff etc

When Halo came out I was surprised it might eclipse COD for me this year although playing the new COD for a couple of hours just now it does feel pretty good, Battlefront was alright but im just not feeling it, not a star wars fan and the gameplay was too watered down for me, Destiny is still not grabbing me bit too MMOish still for my my liking, i like to be able to jump in and play a couple quick matches and jump out and COD and Halo are the prime candidates for that this year for me?

How about you?

If I had to pick one it be Rainbow Six of all of them. My FPS fix will mainly come from Fallout 4 though :)

Cod was rubbish
Battlefront I'm not bothered about
Destiny moved on
Halo 5 maybe when it's in the bargain bucket

I'm not really that interested in R6 either tbh but seems the best of the bunch :)

Halo 5 for the competitive arena matches.
Battlefront for the big battles and star wars.

I have COD being delivered today because I forget to cancel my pre-order. I'm not sure it will get much of a look in with me, but I might give it a decent bash this weekend and see how I feel.

Now there's a question....

Slightly easier for me as won't get COD, don't have Destiny and although R6 was on my provisional wishlist, the negative feedback to beta which i didnt play, has put it on the back burner for now.

So it's between Halo 5 and Battlefront for me.

Ref Halo 5 - I'm historically a Halo campaign person and never really played MP. Initially in early games due to kids being too young to play online uninterupted of an evening, hence didnt bother. In later years i'd have the odd go and not enjoy it so didn't dedicate any time to it. However, having made the effort with Halo 5, i really love Arena and Breakout. Great quick fix modes with a lot of strategy and skill, and with the good matchmaking it's nearly always very close and competitive. So it has really surprised me how much i enjoy it.

Ref Battlefront - Yes it's dumbed down, but i really loved the beta and cant wait to get the full game. My gaming time is restricted a lot with family and work commitments so a dumbed down shooter suits me thesedays. Besides it was really enjoyable and i felt they nailed the Star Wars atmosphere and feel perfectly.

Both will get my gaming time on and off, but if i had to guess which would get more, it would most likely be Battlefront so that gets my vote.

On the Xbox One it will most likely be Halo 5 as I am really liking just popping in for a few games in the Arena.

On the PS4 it's Battlefield 4.

Still into Destiny again at the moment since TTK rekindled my interest. Even got into the PvP Crucible side a bit more now which I didn't enjoy initially.

Battlefront will take some time from it as I did enjoy the beta but can't see it taking over my Destiny time. At the moment, it looks like it doesn't need a massive time commitment which appeals as I can play when the mood takes me.

Apart from that I may well play some more Halo 5 as that was fun from what I've played so far.

Even BF4 could get a look in again although I can't see it in the immediate future with all the previous mentioned to play.

Cod for me this year. Easily the best I've played. Halo 5 isn't bad but I don't have as much fun playing it. Titanfall i grew a bit bored of. Destiny is just crap. No interest in rainbow six and I'm not sure on battlefront.

No Borderlands Handsome Collection? :(

Or BF4? That will no doubt still get some serious % of my time.

Halo 5 tho all day long tho, nailed the multiplayer for me.

Seige looks really interesting but I am holding out for some serious deal to make me risk it

I've changed my Halo 5 to Destiny, the shooting element is spot on, absolutely the tightest I've played this year. Halo is good, Titanfall is good, but Destiny and the actual shooting is the best I've had so far this year. Not sunk my teeth back into BL - that was always pretty spot on too (and Destiny reminds me so much of BL) but got to say Destiny just holds its own at the moment above the others.

That is a bold claim. In my view the MP in destiny is the most unbalanced, ridiculous MP going.

The shooting mechanics are decent but the 30FPS is a let down (and really tells when switching) compared to Titanfall or Halo 5, or Battlefront.

Are you talking about PvP or PvE here?

The multilayer can be absolutely terrible and even worse when it comes to events like Iron Banner when it's just a mess.

Just the game itself, the MP side of so many games can be fudgeed because of the issues with networking, I've played with horrendous lag/glitching on all the MP games I've played at times.

MP looked a bit limited on Destiny to be fair from what little I've played but doesn't change the satisfaction of just blatting the enemies in SP/Coop

Yeah non MP is pretty solid to be faire. But MP can be such a lottery.

But when its good, its good :)

MP can be so inconsistent that I don't feel it's fair to compare one game with another directly like that, some can be more fun but the SP experience can be awful and vice-versa, just purely on the mechanics of shooting at stuff in SP/Coop this just works really well, don't ever feel like the game is cheating you out of kills - but clearly online a different kettle of fish from those vids!
