Hi, so my mum has recently left Sky and just wants the free channels and be able to record so I gave her my old foxsat HDR, now I've installed it, the 2 cables on the outer connectors etc. It won't auto tune, it just says searching for satellite. Manual tune picks up channels but none of the usual bbc1, itv etc. I've also noticed it only says 1 cable.
Plugging the sky box back in even though the sky channels have been disabled it does pick up the free channels still.
Any ideas what to try?

Hi - Did your mum have SkyQ or the older Sky+/Sky+HD? If Q, you will need to change the LNB on the arm of the satellite dish to one like this - it's an easy ish job if you can reach the dish. Alternative is to buy Arris Freesat box, which is compatible with the Sky Q LNB, but is £££ and is awful.

If she was still on the older +/HD then... out of ideas sorry!
