Foxsat HDR recordings jerky

Hi Everyone.

All the recordings on my Foxsat HDR have started to jerk for a split second and I do not know why.
Everything used to be great so this has only happened over the past few weeks.
I have checked and double checked all the settings and signals etc.
When you watch a normal transmission its ok its just on the recordings.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you all for your time.

Only a guess but it sounds as if your hdd drive may be failing. Watch all your recordings or copy to usb and try a hdd format.

Hi Graham.

I have just gone through all the settings again and watched the picture.I also seem to be getting slight artifacting with a blur when people move this is on normal picture on both tuners which are on 90% signal strength.Of course when I record this also records the picture problem.

Any ideas.
Thank you once again.

Hi There.
No the settings on the TV are fine and the picture is excellent using the TV tuner.
Its only happening when I watch TV through the Humax box.
What I have noticed now is that tuner one is worse than tuner two.I have had this Humax box for a number of years now and I have always had a great picture.

Thank you.

Most TV's have individual set up for the different inputs. The fact that the TV picture looks good could still be down to different settings on the hdmi input. If the pictures look the same live as from recordings the hdd will be OK. By worse do you mean diagnostics reports a worse signal for tuner 1. If so power off and swap the inputs, does tuner 2 now have the worst figures. If so the coax cable is likely faulty (water in it/corrosion at the lnb connection)

Hi Graham.

I will recheck the settings for that hdmi input.I have looked at the diagnostics on the Humax box the signal strength for tuner one and two are 90% the quality are both 100%.

Thank you once again.

Nothing wrong with your signal source then. :D

When you say poor picture which channels are you watching ?. The CH5 family are particulary bad as they have squeezed all their channels onto a single Astra 1N transponder. Picture pixellation and motion artefacting are very visible thanks to the inadequate bitrates used.

Hi Graham.

Panic over. After checking the settings on the hdmi connection for the Humax the motion plus was set on standard and it should be on clear. I think that this may of changed itself when the tv carried out an automatic update.
Everything now seems to be fine.

Thank you once again for your time and help.
