Four channel amp and different impedances?

I want to use an Alto MC250.4 Four Channel amplifier to drive two pairs of speakers, each with different impedances.
Setup:
Channel 1 output: 4Ω (JBL Control 5)
Channel 2 output: 4Ω (JBL Control 5)
Channel 3 output: 8Ω (B&W DM7)
Channel 4 output: 8Ω (B&W DM7)
Is this recommended/safe?
Note: In the block diagram for the amp it appears as though each channel operates from a separate amp within the unit.

Update: Alto technical support seems to think it won’t be an issue! But then went onto say “you should also connect 4 TOTALLY DIFFERENT speakers to your MC250.4”?! Opinions?

Rob...as long as the impedances are within the ranges tolerated by your amp, then you should have no problems.

You may well find some quite marked sonic differences though,as the B&Ws and JBLs are not going to sound very similar.

Thanks for the info.
The speakers would be used in separate rooms anyway, where the B&W are for the living room and the JBL for a bedroom.

Hi,

I'm not familiar with these amps but I presume that you can set the volumes independently to adjust the levels between the JBL and B&W pairs.

Yep. Each channel has a separate volume control, clip limit and low cut filters at 35 or 75Hz.
