Right, first the disclaimer. If you are after a high performance 5 shelf monster rack with matching furniture, head over to standsunique, this thread is not for you.

If, however, like me you have been desperately trying to find furniture which:
    a) Does not look like the Lloyd's Insurance building
    b) Oozes suave sophistication
    c) Subtly accepts standard hi-fi components
    d) Causes your wife to swoon with happiness
    e) Does not require you to sell a kidney, then carry on reading.

    My setup is as follows:
    50" Pioneer plasma (wall mounted)
    HTPC (Silver Claritas Case)
    NAD S250 Power amp
    BK XLS200 Subwoofer
    Canton Speakers

Plasma and speakers are all wall mounted but the sticking point came as to how to integrate the two items of equipment plus the subwoofer into the room keeping the overall look cool and stylish.

My idea was to find two small units that I could place either side of the sofa as side tables. These would house an item of equipment each with the sub at the base of one. Crucially, I also needed a matching coffee table.

And this is what I've come up with:
    http://www.greenapple.co.uk
Browse to "Glass & Wood" and then "Marbo"

The side table dimensions are 600(w) x 600(h) x 500(d) and the glass shelf appears perfectly sized for holding a standard item of equipment. My wee BK sub fits in fine too!

They are sold through John Lewis and a couple of other stores but apparantly you can get a BIG discount by purchasing direct through the manufacturer - www.greenapple.co.uk

I've just dropped them an email to get a quote on two side tables plus the coffee table. I'll report back with the result.

    OMG Excellent find !!

We've just got a new flat and I was looking for a 'glass range' like this. Looking around places charge £££'s for this stuff atm, it seems all the rage.

Please let know what prices they come back to you with (PM me if needs be) if others are as interested maybe we could setup a powerbuy.

    Rikki :D

No problem! No answer as yet so if I hear nothing by mid-morning tomorrow I'll try to remember to give them a call.

Bit nervous about the weight capacity of the shelf but fingers crossed.

From what I've read, buying direct can save up to 50% off the retail price!! :smashin:

    Bad news I'm afraid.
Just dropped greenapple a call and apparently they no longer sell direct to the public.

The (very polite) woman I spoke to was doubtful that the Marbo coffee table would support my 19kg power amp on the internal glass shelf but is going to email me confirmation.

Amongst high street retailers, Furniture Village stood out as the cheapest contender and so I will pop in tomorrow to enquire about prices.

Oh dear. 900quid for the coffee table and 600 for the side table.
    Back to the drawing board.

    These two sites are both worth a look;

    http://www.dwell.co.uk/

    http://www.oceanuk.com/

Ocean have a sale on at the moment, 25% off some items.

Neither have anything identical to your original find, but both have some nice modern furniture at prices that aren't too outrageous.

Check out a store called quatropi on e-bay, lots of glass stuff in the avant garde range which might suit you. I recently bought a five shelf glass rack (palma is the model name) and very happy with it.
