Forza Motorsport 7 (3rd October 2017)

I know this hasn't been officially announced but if this isn't confirmed in 13 days at Microsoft's E3 Press Conference, I'll eat my hat!

An old article here leaking the title by Fanatecs CEO:
Forza Motorsport 7 Leaked by Fanatec

I expect 1080p/60 on Xbox One (as per FM6) but 4k/60 on Scorpio no probs.

Your misses said something about you being premature Dave.....;)

Nailed on though as you say. Looking forward to hearing how good it looks on Scorpio. Will all be for nothing though if they still don't have any proper championship structures in the game and stick with the top 3 bullsh*t where each race becomes an isolated event.

Yeah that's true re the championships. Hope they sort that out. Would be good if they included some qualifying too.

PS - best to get in there early, that's my motto :-D

I honestly don't think they'll change it though which is just baffling. They try to push the franchise as this ultimate sim and motor racing porn, yet miss the most fundamental aspect that makes racing great. To not have seasoned or championship events, even if in small quantities of 4 / 5 races etc, with points tally's carrying forward to the next race it's just a pointless single race exercise every time. The fact you just need to be top 3 also dilutes it further.

Also like you say they need qualifying too. In Project Cars the Qualifying was a game in itself and incredibly satisfying having to make a good and legal lap before the session runs out. You had to evaluate going for a top time but risk messing up and the lap being illegal, or going cautiously to definitely get a legal time and a position on the grid, knowing it won't be at the front. It was awesome. F1 qualifying good too. To then play F6 and just be mid-pack every single race is just so boring.

I understand why Turn 10 do it the way they have as feel it's more accessible to the mainstream, but no reason they can't retain that for those that want it, but have proper championship structures for others who want that instead. Hardly a complicated thing to incorporate is it..... Maybe it needs the power of Scorpio to become a reality....

Argh, so the dilemma is, should I wait until Xbox One X before picking this up, or pick up at launch and run the risk of having completed the campaign and being a little tired of it by the time Xbox One X lands..

But then Wolfenstein II lands part way through and I'll totally into that (PC purchase for that one methinks)

This is why I was convinced the X would be out early Sept...before Destiny, before or at the same time as Forza etc

At this point, I think I'm going to wait. Then again, would be good to see how it is at 1080 before getting the upgraded 4k X version...[emoji1]

if Mugello really is returning then this will be me sold - i absolutely LOVE that track. my favourite in the game.

i spent hours and hours and hours going round there on FM2 in the renault 5 gt turbo trying to break into the 1min 47's. such an amazing track.

Yeah Mugello was a track I used to love for time trials and stuff, as I did with Maple Valley. I remember a C class time trial on Maple Valley short that I must have put in hundreds and hundreds of laps trying to shave tenths of my time. I got pretty high up in the leaderboards iirc (maybe top 50, top 100)

one of my friends used to have the number 1 time in the world round Maple Valley full in a Ferrari (think it might have been a Testarossa, or something similar).

he had built it and tuned it with a few others and was just the absolute daddy round that track. nobody could get near him.

i used to like the circuit but would always struggle

Trying to find proper details on the career. Apparently they have revamped it but I just want to know if it has a proper racing structure with multiple races in a championship where points carry across. If you finish last so be it, 0 points and move on etc. If they sort that out I'm in, if not I'll stick to PC2 and maybe grab this in a later sale.

Either way, if I decide I will definitely get an XBX day one (about 80% at the mo) and want this, then I will probably delay getting it until the console hits. Not got 4k so it's not for that reason, but will have plenty of other games to keep me busy around September with the likes of PC2, PES, Destiny 2 etc, so will wait on this and it might either be discounted by the time the console hits, or I think a number of retailers or even MS themselves may have a Forza bundle with the game.

Maple Valley is returning, as are Mugello and Suzuka [emoji106]
where did you read or see this info??! Those 3 tracks are excellent tracks, as long as they aren't included at the expense of tracks we have in F6 it's brilliant news, although if they remove Le Mans(le sarthe) I wouldn't care as I detest that track

There are quite a few vids on YouTube with people who got info at E3 from Turn 10 reporting about the tracks.

Yeah, I can't remember which interview it was but Mugello was spotted in the trailer, and they definitely confirmed Maple Valley as well.

For Suzuka, Dan Greenawalt himself tweeted it after he was asked

It was hard to find out what actual changes have been made to the engine other than a resolution bump, happy to see they have added fully dynamic weather and lighting (instead of a mix of baked and some dynamic).

Would be interesting to see what else they may have done.

Day one purchase for me.

I'm sure there'll be more details in the lead up to launch, especially when DF get their hands on the final review/retail code

The change to dynamic weather and I assume time of day are far more significant than anything else. Given Project Cars had this 2 years ago they had to implement it so good to see. In PC it helped create a stunning canvas for what was / is an incredible racing game to excel. Hopefully Turn 10 haven't just chucked the same tired game in the mix with new 4k capability and dynamic weather though. If that's the case it will be the usual Forza experience, suck you in for a period and then tire far quicker than it should.

As per earlier post if they don't have proper functional championships to get stuck into it's all pointless. I'm hoping with the revamped career mode (which from brief snippets sounds like they are also taking ideas from PC) they will finally give us a game that we deserve and that matches the rest of the production values .

Dynamic weather is a huge deal to me and I can see that taking a lot of work. Time of day would also be great and if they allow dynamic weather to sometime have larger tracks having slightly different weather that would be great too (like in an F1 race sometimes the rain doesn't covers 1 section of the track).

Really looking forward to see what engine upgrades they have done and if they are going to be in the regular Xbox One version too.

Few pics here. Looks amazing, and good to see it's seems they've reused the 8k camera rig for the skies like they did for FH3

Is there enough people to warrant having AVF race nights again. Because it has been so long since I last took part in such a thing. However there must be a few old heads from the FM2, FM3 and FM4 race nights.
