Forza Horizon 4 (XB)

This was the game I was most looking forward to at E3 and it looks incredible! Like many I was hoping for Japan but still really happy with the UK setting. The Seasons look awesome and I spotted some dirt bikes too, so looking forward to those! Will be a day one purchase for me depending on what versions are on offer, otherwise great to hear it will be available via Game Pass.

Really surprised by the UK setting but in a good way...!

I had to watch on my Laptop, but my god it looked stunning, Playground games should use this engine for other types of games too.

Oh God! Edinburgh! Must be some PGR2 fans at Playground :) :) :)

Looked good. I thought "Ooh, hovercrafts." but then realised it'll probably be one of those events where you have to race against it.

They have the perfect opportunity to get the Applecross pass (Bealach na ba) in the game. Now that would be awesome.

It's going to be strange blasting around the map with Britain's roads signs and stuff dotted around. I dreamed of this game when I was a teenager (before I could actually drive)

I'm hoping for the Cairnwell Pass. Love that road when going to Glenshee and it would be amazing to drift an old Escort around Devil's Elbow :)

I was at in disbelief for a second...I was thinking..."that looks like the UK...nah, can't be"

Pretty long read here, and more coverage to come from IGn as part of Junes 'IGN First'

Likewise mate. As mentioned in the E3 thread the rumour of Japan as a setting really didn't appeal to me. UK is an awesome surprise as offers such variety to the settings and the whole season aspect is fantastic. Taken note of Project Cars 2 on that front. It's all good and helps move the franchise forward rather than rest on its laurels like so many do. Seems to be a lot of wildlife in there too.... Maybe a Jeremy Clarkson road kill Cow on the roof could be a go. Also tractors and I wonder if they'll be any any caravans slowing traffic on some country roads...could make races interesting.

I've still not played much of FH3 but this being in the UK will add so much to it and day one for me without question. Absolutely loved MSR for its London setting, then later all the PGR's especially in London and Vegas as places I recognised and streets I'd driven down myself which adds so much to the experience. Equally as mentioned above, Edinburgh in PGR2 was awesome. Can't wait for this.

When I saw the bikes in the trailer I thought they may be adding them, but later saw an ign vid which was an E3 demo it seems and they are in one of the showcases.

Only niggling doubt I have is the shared open world...... It may in most cases be great, however, we all know how annoying idiots in racing game lobby's can be, and my concern here is there'll be idiots just going round smashing into people constàntly just because they can. Then how do you police it when it's a do what you want playground.....? Will wait and see.

Looks incredible though and with a 60fps option too..... Awesome.

I think they mention in the IGN article about griefing, and I think they said they'll ghost people. 72 player servers was a surprise too. Should be plenty of people flying around.

60fps mode was a great surprise too. Should be glorious!

I doubt it will force us into playing with others if we don't want to. There should still be options to only play against AI, much like what we have in FH3 at the moment.

EDIT: Looking at the various gaming sites this morning I'm seeing a few folk mention PG have confirmed offline play.

A701 from Moffat to Edinburgh up past the devils beeftub, though they won't be able to recreate the fact your eyes will pop if you've done it properly...

Had to Google that, looks like an amazing road!

The Devil's Beeftub sounds a lot like The Lost Valley in Glencoe (also used to hide cattle :p). Speaking of which, the A82 through Glencoe Valley would be awesome too.

To my knowledge, playground games is made up of devs from bizarre (responsible for pgr) amongst others.

Personally i was always a fan of kgb corner from PGR 2

Yep, I think a number came from Codemasters too, and some other UK based dev teams (many of which closed), so it's definitely a team with bags of talent and pedigree in the racing genre.

Ooooh yes...! Good point. It's what happened next to a lot of Bizarre after their involvement with Activision led to their closure...

OMG - Edinburgh !!!!! YES
Can not wait to race round that city again. PGR2 was for me the one with the best tracks and streets so I am literally slavouring all over the place for this one. Awesome news. Just awesome

The Ultimate Edition now also includes both post-launch expansions - these are normally priced separately
