I was just browsing the mp3 players forum and noticed a post with embedded pictures. The pictures were hosted by the poster and you could see them in the thread.

Out of curiosity I hit the reply button and noticed the 'insert picture' icon which brings up the box to paste in your picture URL.

Then I come back here to the photo forum and there is no such icon when you hit reply here

I'm sure there must be a good reason why it's not possible here - anyone know why?

I'd prefer to link to pictures... others that don't have hosting could still attach as now.

the forum i run has a limit on picture size, it can be implemented as a hack on that software, that way the forums are not slowed and people on 56k dont suffer *too* much, so i cant see why it cant be done here, maybe there is a good reason for it??

I'd prefer to link as I do on other sites. Reducing pics down to the attachment size here means more resizing, and I generally just do 800x600 or so for web pics that people will view.

    Got to be better....

I saw that picture when you linked to it before. The mouth has a strange almost cartoon like look to it. Is that down to sharpening etc. or was the original like that?

no..the problem was i shot through a fence, there is a line that runs through the lower jaw and up throught the left eye as we look at it, and also, the lion is yawning, which gives it a slightly different 'feel'

also the focus point is just above the nose, if i did it lower it locked to the fence...grrrr
