    Hi guys,

I have some -RW discs that I'd burnt movies to from my PC using Ulead DVD Moviefactory.

But I was then unable to format and re-use them on my DVDR (Sony GX700).

I first had to wipe the table of contents on my PC then I was able to format them on the DVDR.

Any suggestions how I can do the above on the DVDR and cut out the need for the PC?

    Thanks,

    Andy

Well you should be able to reformat DVD-RW's that are formatted on your Sony; it's only DVD-RW's that are formatted on your PC that may cause you any trouble.

If the DVDR format fails for these discs, then I don't see what else you can do on the DVDR. Either reformat on the PC, or don't use discs which have been previously formated on the PC in the DVDR.

Yep it seems there is something about the PC's finalisation process (am using Ulead DVD Moviefactory) that the DVDR does not recognise.

However, by erasing the table of contents of the disc on the PC (takes a few seconds) the disc is then fully functional on the DVDR.

Thanks for the quick responses guys,

    Andy
