one has to think how they're going to make this happen.
i mean, japan's never gonna make it to the finals!

on a serious note though, not only 3D picture, but talk of ultrasound, electric stimulation, wind pressure.. Is this even possible?
Imagine watching a soccer match, and smelling some dirty fans nearby the camera, not excactly a pleasent sounding proposition.
Do we even want this to be possible? Is it the next big thing?

As much as I love thinking about the future and all the possibilities I dont think we would see someting like this for a long long time.

We are only just geting HDTV, after that japan plans to release UHDTV.
    But its all still 2D.

    3D is a big step.

Of course its possible, but if you ask me I think people (general public) are too slow on the up take.
Look at how long it has taken HDTV to catch on.

Now that people are finaly realising what it is, they are slowly moving towards it. Having to buy expensive new screens doesnt help either.

UHDTV will no doubt require new screens too as the resolution is so high. 3D systems will require something completely new. Maybe even a new living room!

the camera technology involved alone would be immense I would love to see it but I really don't think it's going to be for a while.

AML - don't think it's just a case of GP being slow on the uptake. It's the broadcasters who've been dragging their heels. Europe could've had HD 5 years ago, IF the broadcasters and relevent government bodies had REALLY wanted it to happen.
But the flipside to this is that we'd all have HD CRTs rather than LCDs/Plasma, so the time lag has helped the manufacturers to hone their products so that there's more than JUST HD to persuade the GP to change TVs.
So, as much as we're all chomping at the bit to have HD, it is coming and we'll look back in fondness to the "good old days" when life used to be so much simpler.

I think watching adult films on this might have your partner filing for devorce.

I can't see they can get this done within 15 years, its only a small step away from the startrek holodeck.

Figures you guys would be the first to see porn as the first application for 3D technology! :rotfl:

As far as im concerned this will all be a pipe dream for a while. Especially when considering the whole "smell" side of things.

Dixons says "it's the future" - I went in to order this and they said it wasn't in stock yet.
