so here goes  [in no particular order...]

    - for documentry, as i know i'm missing out on the dts on the R3, i think! lol
    Amores Perros [R1]
    Battle Royale [R?]
    Nine Queens [R1]
Y Tu Mama Tambien [R2 UK]

oh...and i know the following ones aren't 'foreign films' but they're ones i wouldn't mind getting all the same ;):D

    Donnie Darko [R2 UK?]
    Black Hawk Down [R3?]

Wait a month or two for Battle Royale. A new R2 two disc set is being released with DTS.

There is also a slimmed down 1 disc edition of Donnie Darko coming out for £6.

    hi all :)

    thanks for the feedback :smashin:

Chibouk: the links are cool cheers  i haven't used some of those listed so i'll have to check them out :)

dsw182: thanks for the heads up! i know that deciding which battle royale version to get can be pretty daunting! lol i'll wait n see what shows :) as i know that battle royale 2 is pretty close to a release too...

i didn't realise about donnie darko either  as i thought the existing r2 was already a 1 disc set...ooopps! anyway i may see what i can find, if not then i'll wait for the 'slimmed down' edition :)

figrin_dan: sweet, i'll take a look in my virgin megastore tonight after work as i wasn't aware of their current offer, thanks. i'll look at cd-wow too but i'm pretty sure that the region2 version is supposed to be a lil better...

    thanks you all
    keep them coming! ;)

    nah...

thats what i thought too...but did a quick search and it appears to be a re-release of the 'film only' so some places are listing it as a 'vanilla disk/release' etc

but i'd quite like to get the one with all the extra features so will probably pay that lil more to do so :)

hope that shed some light on to things...

If you are as 'challenged' as me don't bother with a film only version of DD. This film REQUIRES the extras.

    lol :D

i'm sure i'll struggle on the first viewings :D:blush: he he. but i'm prepared for the head scratching so hopefully that should go a little in my favour ;)

i admit that there are many films i have that i've probably not even taken the 'extras' disc out of the case! but i'm sure this'll be one that does indeed 'REQUIRE' it :)

Sorry about the '1 disc' Donnie Darko thing. There is no 2 disc one, as you said. I just meant a no extras, film only disc.

    he he :)

no probs my friend...thanks for pointing it out in the first place! else i never would have known either way :) :smashin:

just to keep you guys up to date if you will...i've ordered the following discs so far

City of God - R2 UK
Amores Perros - R1 US [not signature release, as far as i know...]
    Nine Queens - R1 US
    and
Black Hawk Down SDE (Superbit Deluxe) (3 Disc)+OST Limited Edition - R3 Korean

    :)

i popped in to my local virgin megastore after work today and couldn't see their '5 for £30' offer unfortunately  i saw a selection of reduced dvd's but no multi purchase jobby as such  i managed to find Y Tu Mama Tambien - R2 UK but it was not reduced or in the sale etc and was £19.99 which thought was quite a lot really so decided to leave it and look elsewhere...

cheers for all your help people!

    Hi

CD Wow were doing R2 Donnie Darko for £7.99. You could get for £2.50 cheaper if you've got vouchers.

Just noticed there doing a Prism release for £4.99.

How did you get on with the Canadian Amores perros? The best transfer I've seen of that is the Australian Region 0 disc (which I just happen to have for sale :D )

I have the R1 Nine Queens too but I see you've bought that as well.

    hi APPRIA40WR :)

to be honest i wasn't overally impressed with the pq.

i don't think it has a major effect on the enjoyment of the film. i actually quite like it feally a little 'grungy' as its not a hollywood action flick so it does kinda 'work' for the film [not that i'm saying i wouldn't have liked it a little better ;) :D lol]

yeah, as you've seen...i got nine queens too. watched it last night and loved it  i didn't see your sale stuff :( sorry 'bout that...i'll have a look now though and see if anything tickles my fancy ;) [where ever that might be :D]

    thanks
