I've forgotten how to do a forced download on my Amstrad Digibox can anybody enlighten me, also I read somewhere that at the end of april the long awaited "flagging" of programs was to be implemented! Has anybody heard any news?

I think it is power off for a minutew or so, then power on while holding the back up key in on the unit until it starts the download (10 seconds or so).

the download of latest software is as you say hold the back up button in / power off still hoding that button / power on again still holding that button wait about 10 seconds screen will go black and the message "software download in progress do not touch this may take up to 10 minutes" mine only took about 2 mins and it seems faster and i can now get sky news active to function, which had disapeared a while ago, still not been downloaded the new look sky with the additional "0 - programe planner" interface on the tv guide page,ah well it will come when it's good and ready :p

You only need to hold in the back up button when switching on, NOT when switching off.
All the lights on the front of the digibox should come on as well as displaying an on screen message.

Remove the card when doing it.
Also, wait approx 40 secs. between removing power and when the download completes.
Put card in at the end when it's ready to go.
