Never, XP is the one of the best OS's in computer history.

Vista and possibly Windows 8 on the other hand...

Yep MS got it right with NT/98/W2000, XP and W7 the rest are and were an absolute disgrace. The OS rip off of the last 25 years (worth billions), all I ask is think about 95, ME, Vista and W8 - they are and were an expensive joke.

It's not fashionable to hate W8.

W8 is a tablet/touch screen based OS that MS invented - giving little regard to their core users - in a vain attempt to catch up with the Android and iOS market. Thus making it a substandard OS for desktops and non touchscreen laptops. Ask yourself this - will business use W8!!!? I doubt it.

Millions of people are still using XP as it's the 2nd best OS behind Windows 7 in my opinion.
I've not used Windows 8 yet but family members say it's not better than Windows 7 :-/

Apple are also doing it with the 3g iphone & so everyone has to bin them.

Switch to Linux, help to end the Microsoft near-monopoly. I don't hate Microsoft ( I used their products since 1992) but they need some manners put on them. I still use Vista (very rarely) and get occasional headaches with it. I had almost forgotten the annoying 'you must restart your computer for these updates to take effect' messages and faffing about with Windows, but it's always there to remind me when I (rarely) boot it up.
Linux is far from perfect, but at least you don't have to pay to help develop it.

I use both. Ubuntu exclusively on my laptop. Unfortunately the world runs on Windows - what can you do. :(

True - but I find I need Windows less every day - I use Mint (15, 13 and LMDE) and Debian (and CrunchBang) myself, mad distro hopper.
