Well my speakers don't have very good bass, Mission 773e, but could be due to positioning - corner of the room setup. The sub, Paradigm PDR10( can you tell I'm a Richer's fool) adds that little bit extra whoooomph.....Anyway if you like fast bass you must be a Level 42 fan..

Yep, corner of room can cause all sorts of probs. as can equidistant from side walls. You can get nodes developing, but this is more for the hifi forum.
Bass on the other hand should be felt, not heard. The booming you can hear on albums is closer to mid range and if its overblown it detracts from the music and rythmn.
Fast as chisels is an adaption of the Captains album Trout Mask Replica ( get your head around his music and you find it difficult to return to normal stuff, everything after Beefheart sounds boring )
