Folding DIY Fixed Frame screen?

Standard Member
I'm still in the planning stage of my hidden/wife friendly home cinema

For the screen its going to either be a pull-up screen or a Fixed Frame screen that can come off the wall and be hidden somewhere (behind the sofa, etc)

The fixed frame screen size I want however is quite large and won't fit behind the sofa without sticking out...

So my question is this - would I be crazy to have a fixed frame screen with a hinge to bend it in half?

When un folded it would pull tight and hopefully remove/stop any creasing? Maybe a anti-crease fabric could be used?

I have seen that you can buy folding screens, so I am wondering how much of an issue the crease where the screen folds would be? if at all.
