FMJ DV27 is this a problem?

Hello all,

Having felt my A/V curse was lifted since changing my run of faulty DVD-3800's for an Arcam FMJ DV27, I got that sinking feeling again this morning whilst flicking through a few films.

I have noticed that objects with vertical edges appear to be slightly curved towards the centre of the screen. This effects gradually lessens towards the middle of the picture. Doors, window frames, bars etc all exhibit a slight bend inwards, almost like a pincussion effect.

I am running the DV27 through RGB into a Philips 9617 32" set and did not notice this problem with the DVD-3800.

Any ideas as with all the nail biting I am now up to nibbling at my elbows over getting a working A/V system!!

In every other respect, I am delighted with the DV27 and would recommend this player to anyone serious about home cinema.

Regards

Gordon,

Thanks for response. I am popping to my dealers to help a buddy blow loadsa dosh on denon avc-1sr so will ask to borrow disk.

This problem was not present on DVD-3800 though. Weird.

I am just about ready to throw in the towel with DVD as I have had a run of 9 players which have all had some fault! The FMJ DV27 is the closest to perfection so far!

Regards

Doh!

Just tested the TV with SKY and various picture sizes - DV27 is fine and my telly needs realignment! Any ideas on how to get into the service mode to re-adjust?

Thanks gordon, I have stopped biting my nails!!
