Does the FMJ 27 still have the 503 chip or has it been upgraded with the 504 chip?

This could swing my purchase in Denons favour if the FMJ 27 does not have the 504 chip.

    Yes,

The 3800 does look promising feature wise although maybe the FMJ 27 can be upgraded to the 504 chips and other new features in the future i don't know?

Maybe someone from Arcam could let us know.

    Steve.

There is no significant difference in performance between the SiI503 and 504 deinterlacing chips. The main reason that the 504 exists is that it is manufactured on a smaller geometry silicon process, which reduces its power consumption and means manufacturers can save some cost on the silicon and their power supplies.

Beware of too much hype in these matters :)
