Crusty loafer thanks for your reply. I notice that you have a dv29 and an avr 300 in your lineup how have you connected them just by digital cable or by utilising the channel outputs on the 29? How does it sound with cds and in particular with HDCD ? Also is it comparable to a 500 pounds ie midrange cd player?

I have my DV29 connected with both the digital connection and the analogue outputs. I use the digital connection for DVD movies with Dolby Digital and DTS soundtracks as the processing is better on the AVR300 for this. I use the analogue outputs for DVD-A playback as this is the only way I can do it at the moment.

It is very impressive with CDs, probably not far behind the CD192. To be honest I cannot comment greatly on its CD performance as I never use it for cd playback as I also have CD33 too which is much better.
