thought people would want to see some pics .. there are not many pics around at the moment .i love the blue backlit remote .hope this might help you make up your minds about buying one ..thanks home media for getting it in so quick
Thanks Leon, its making me even more impatient for the one I have ordered. I was told it would possibly come before Xmas. I was going to combine the DV139 with my P8/P7 and two P1's (I am just waiting for as well) biamping my 805s to give me a n upgraded christmas present. But alas I think I will disappointed! So your pictures may be the only thing that keeps my cockles warm. By the way having had it a while longer than the rest of us, has it disappointed in any way??
i got mine yesterday .i was told mine should be here mid jan so you never no you might get yours soon.im over the moon with it so far .the hdmi handshake plays up abit when my tv goes into stanby but thats not a main problem .the sound and pq are amazing .i hope you get yours soon m8e it worth the wait i have some high quality photos if you pm me ill send you them they are large and very clear
Uuurggh, looks horrible. Definitely don't want one
oh yes u do .buy buy buy its better than S*X
I see a Pioneer Dv-868, too. Have you compared the performance of the two players?
I'm especially interested in audio; how much the Arcam bettered the Pioneer? A lot, i guess, could you give some examples (like Cd's Dvd-Audio or Sacd songs played by both)?
Thanks v.much for the pics Leon. Great to get some decent pics in the Arcam Forum.
Thanks for the pics , is there any chance of some shots from DVD's played through the 139?
Anyone want to see a black one?
BTW UrbanT, haven't there been a few changes to your setup since your last website update?!
A huge amount, virtually everythings changed I'm planning to take some up to date pics over the Xmas period, I just haven't had the time to do it yet
sorry the pic gets reduced alot they do not do it justice
i would go as far as saying the sound is 80% better and the picture is 70% as for cd and sacd i have never heard a player like this .. i have had around 30 dvd player since i started getting into av in 1998 and if i was to put a price on the dvd player i would pay £3000.00 for it and thought i still had a bargain .....
With the caveats that screen shots have very limited use, as well as the fact I'm struggling to get used to a new camera, here are a couple just for fun
Definetely WANT ONE!!! Unfortunately i've to arrange PROBLEMS with the rest of my HT equipments, first...
Looks like 7 phono connections for 5.1 and stereo so do you really need 7 cables or is the stereo pair spare. I was assuming -
1 x coax dig for DVD
5 x analogue interconnects for CD/SACD/DVD-A
You need 7 as the CD section is separate to the SACD/DVDA section
Thanks, make that 8
You do not need to use the steeo only outputs as well as the 5.1 channel outputs. If you playback a stereo only source you will get stereo nly out of the front left and right outputs which are part of the multi-channel outputs.
You only need to use the stereo only outputs if you want to feed an always downsampled stereo signal to a separate stereo system.
You're right, DOH! So you need 6? Must read the manual better next time
what do instructions do anyway lol never read them i should really ohh and the sound keeps getting better when will it stop improving ?
Thanks Crusty you just saved me £179 on another set of Red Dawns. Merry Christmas
Now grab a screwdriver and show us it's insides
Umm, don't like backlit remote myself - but that won't affect my desire in having the player. The layout of the remote looks very similar to the one from DV88 which I have.
