I demo'd some speakers at my local hifi store. I really liked one of the KEF speakers, but it appeared to be missing bass.

The sales man said that he believed they sounded much better earlier when he had a A90 attached. I asked him to swap the amp, and to our amazement the A90 sounded considerably better.

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this, or if the shops A32 was broke.

The FMJ products tend to have a leaner, tighter sound which is not to everyone's taste. At the same time though they do sound more detailed and dynamic.

Don`t know if the fmj was broke but i have got KEF Q1`s running off an A85 and i bought the cd192 yesterday. The shop demo`d the cd player with my exact setup and the guy actually remarked how good the bass sounded as he was going to suggest different speakers before he heard it.

    Mark,

Forgive my ignorance, Are your Q1's bi-wireable and you are bi-amping with the A85/P75 combo or is there an AV multi channel thing going on????

    Regards

    Jason
