hello everyone, i need some advice on my setup.

i have a Yamaha V473 which is about 80x5. and it can take uptill 6ohms.
for my surround and center i have the Bose acoustimass 6 setup along with the Base module.
i have been looking to replace my fronts with something more powerful for music.
i am on a budget roll, therefore want something really cheap and good, hence looked into the used market and this is what i found

1) MS (MORDAUNT STOP) VS-300 floor standing (6 ohms) £60

2) Tannoy 611 MK 1 - £100

3) B&W 602 Bookshelf - £`120

which one of these would be a better buy and good for my setup?
thanks

I had a set of Tannoy 605's from the same range as the 611's and loved them. If they are in good condition, then that's what I would go for personally.

Whichever one you like the sound of best in a demo. :) Possibly that the bookshelf might be a better buy since a cheap floorstander may just sound boomy in an effort to impress with 'bass'.

Also, using any of those with a Bose centre will give a poor result, so bank on buying a matching centre if you want any semblance of a front soundstage. Even different sized speakers from the same range can sound poor when mixed, let alone two very different types of speaker.

thanks for the reply, i want to use the speaker mainly for music. so i will be using them for 2 channel stereo operations mostly.

for movies, i might just completely lower the volume level so that i can achieve the right mix... about the centre yes i might change it but later on.

all these speakers are second hand so having them to listen with the same environment and same amp etc is very difficult....
